How To Get Pregnant Over The Age Of Forty
Plant a tree, Write a book and raise a child. You can't lead a full life without
doing these things, right? Well, maybe not everyone is that interested in literature or gardening, but there's
something most people agree upon: parenting is a fundamental experience for anyone who wants to take all that life
has to offer. And while many couples conceive their children by accident and all too soon - there are also many
couples who sometimes see the years go by, until they start wondering whether it's too late to have children. No
surprises, there: once women reach their 40's, their reproductive system begins to shut down; sometimes at this
age, conceiving may become an irrevocable race against time. But there are strategies that might allow you to win
this race, and fulfill your dream of becoming a parent.
Granted, our civilization has developed advanced technology that help us surpass
our human limitations in a number of ways; science is nowadays capable of bringing about wonderful effects, which
sometimes may look akin to magic. We have all heard about intra-uterine insemination, fertility drugs and even IVF
(in-vitro fertilization); those are all options that you can look into by visiting a fertility treatment. However,
there are other strategies that may help you get pregnant over 40 without having to resort to invasive therapies.
Specifically, there's a natural strategy that some older couples have successfully used to increase the likelihood
of conception, simply by applying the reverse reasoning to that which young couples frequently use to avoid
conceiving a baby during their regular sexual activities. To put it simply, the act of conception is merely a
matter of timing... or lack thereof.
As a woman, you're already familiar with your menstrual cycles. If you aren't, you
should be; even younger girls aren't fertile all through their cycle. In fact, there's a relatively narrow window
of time in which having unprotected sex will be most likely lead to pregnancy; this is usually referred to as
the woman's “fertile window” and it tends to occur in the week leading to ovulation. The problem with older women
is that this window gets progressively narrow with age, and after the age of 40 a woman may only have as much as a
single day of fertility in each cycle – and eventually the fertile day will start to skip cycles, as menopause
approaches. So, what you want to be doing (regardless of currently being subject to a fertility treatment, is to
pay close attention to your fertile window, and time your attempts at conception as closely as possible to this
period. Also, you should keep in mind that in order for a baby to be healthy, it takes an egg and a sperm: but more
importantly, it should be a fresh egg and fresh sperm.
You can make sure you have a fresh egg by charting your menstrual cycles and
trying to pinpoint your ovulation. But you also should keep in mind that fresh sperm is called for, and that sperm
can survive for up to three days inside your body. So you should not only abstain from having sex in the 3-4 days
before your ovulation, but your partner should also build up fresh sperm by keeping from ejaculating in the same
period (not longer, otherwise his sperm may age all the same). So when ovulation does occur and you're at your most
fertile moment, your partner will also be prepared to make his best effort towards conception. From this specific
mindset, you'll be drastically increasing the chances of pregnancy, and you'll be doing so in a natural
way.
